My First Blog

Dear Friends,
I'm here blogging, cannot believe. Not because I couldn't do it but found no need, so I thought. Some have challenged the fact that I don't communicate with them. Some want to know about my travels and my plans for Latino ministries. Well so much is happening that the only thing I can do is try to record all the changes that I see and some of my thoughts. Personally I don't know if this will work but I will certainly try.

Challenging times:
Yes, even the Church is feeling the financial pinch. Our agency Home Missions is looking at ways to continue the good work with do with less resources. Our new director BV is a great man of God and I pray for him daily. He is a process man brought in by God for such a time as this. Our Director of Team, AEL, is another great man. Boy how admire these guys. They certainly have a challenging job. We had to reduce our grants, a painful desicion nonetheless a wise one and I hope folks understand. As an Ethnic, I worry of how this will affect Ethnic ministries nonetheless we must trust our sovereign God and how he speaks through the body. Christians out there please pray for our leaders.
Even as I present this scenario, there is some excitement which I cannot control. I know God is doing his thing in order for his Kingdom to continue expanding. I know God will do great things. This is His Church. He said I will build my Church. Isn't that great? God will build his church, not us. God will bring us accross the Red Sea, even when it looks impossible. Even when the heart of Pharaoh has been hardened. At the end of this process we will all know that it is God who did it, not us!!!

Personal:
Well my friend Zaida was in the hospital and so was my dear sister Olga. They both have been released but feel somewhat crappy. Zaida has been stressed about school work and I'm trying to get her to see that she must let go. She has huge faith but at the same time she struggles like I do and we all do. Please lift these great women of God in you prayers.

Our good friend and brother from Jus, Nigeria, William Karshima, is currently living with us as he continues his graduate studies. We are truly blessed to have him here. We love you brother!!!!

My niece Stephanie is also living with us. She is so mature sometimes. She began working at Universal Studios, Orlando. My daughter Jennifer works there as well (Margaritaville). Steph is excited about making some money, but doesn't like the uniform. She will look like a little ranger :-) Well "That's All Folks." At least for today...
